Indigenous forest shelters the lodge beside white-sand beaches and a protected channel, with the Indian Ocean shaping the stay: guests can spend time on the shore or explore the surrounding reefs and waters.

&Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Ngorongoro, Tanzania

Set on the rim of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater, the lodge looks over a caldera known for its concentration of wildlife. Before its current rebuild closure, it comprised three separate camps with 30 suites, designed as stilted mud-and-thatch interpretations of Maasai homesteads, with antiques, chandeliers and crater-facing windows. &Beyond says the lodge is closed for an extensive rebuild and expected to reopen in 2027. Its former room count and design should not be taken as confirmed features of the rebuilt property.
